Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We hope that this message finds you all healthy and safe.
After a long and careful consideration of all the parameters regarding global outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 and recognizing the uncertain course of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ESES Executive Council and the Local Organizing Committee decided to postpone the 9th Biennial Congress of the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons, which was scheduled to be held in Athens from 27 to 29 May 2021.
The various restrictions set by health authorities and local governments, the possibility that the current outbreak will not end in the coming months and above all the health, safety and security of all participants, sponsors and staff were the main reasons behind this ealy decision, which aims to give clear notice to participants and remove any doubt and speculation from the Congress’ organization.
We are now pleased to announce that we have secured new dates to hold the 9th Biennial Congress of the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons, hereafter referred to as ESES 2022, on 26-28 May 2022. The Congress venue will remain Divani Caravel Hotel, the same as ESES2021 Congress.
The extensive planning and preparations for the 9th Biennial Congress of the European Association of Endocrine Surgeons are completely transferable to the new dates, by which time we anticipate that the COVID-19 pandemic will be a distant past and that we can all meet together with safety. In this respect all current registrations for the ESES 2021 will be rolled over automatically to apply to 2022.
We sincerely hope that the entire ESES community is able to remain healthy and we look forward to seeing you all in Athens in 2022!

Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues,
It is beyond any doubt that endocrine surgery has been continuously evolving alongside other specialties.
It is therefore the duty and responsibility of our Society to keep a close eye on developments, to inform colleagues about them, and in particular to emphasize in practices, protocols and techniques that increase the safety of surgeries for endocrine diseases.
An even greater goal for the Society is to attract new colleagues who deal with endocrine surgery and initiate them into good surgical practices with an ultimate goal of offering patients the ideal surgery with the lowest possible complication rate.
The above-mentioned data, we believe, will be the scientific backbone of our conference with the aim of homogenizing surgery for the operations of endocrine diseases across Europe and thus the consolidation of a common “communication language” among European Surgeons.
The Hellenic Society of Endocrine Surgeons, having developed close scientific links with the Hellenic Society of Endocrinology, also invites endocrinologists to contribute to the realization of the objectives of the conference within the framework of the multidisciplinary approach of endocrine diseases.
We call on you and invite you to Athens, Greece, the home of Hippocrates, in May of 2022, so we can achieve the aforementioned goals together.
