The evolving situation caused by COVID-19 around the world resulted in concerns regarding the safety of the Congress participants. The ESES Executive Committee and the Local Organizing Committee for ESES 2020 in Athens, Greece have concluded that with the worldwide pandemic and accompanying social and economic disruption, ESES 2020 Congress must be postponed.
ESES Congress 2020 will now become ESES 2021 with the new dates being Thursday 27 May to Saturday 29 May 2021. Due to lack of Megaron Athens International Conference Center’s availability the ESES Congress in Athens will now take place in Divani Caravel Hotel, a business city hotel in the centre of Athens, within walking distance from metro.
All current registrations for the ESES 2020 will be rolled over automatically to apply to 2021. Those already registered do not need to do anything to secure their attendance for 2021. The same applies for purchase of gala dinner tickets & registration at pre-congress courses. All components of current registrations including registration, admission to all scientific sessions, Coffee breaks, Light lunch, Welcome Reception, Congress bag and all associated material, Certificate of attendance, will also roll over.
Registrations for the ESES 2020 are transferrable. We encourage those who are currently registered but unable to attend in 2021 to transfer their registration to a colleague or friend. However, if you are not able to attend on the new dates and replacement is not possible, the amount paid excluding administration fee of 50€ will be refunded, for cancellations received till November 9th 2020 the latest.
Yes, for those that have not registered, the early bird registration rate will be extended until 31 October 2020 via the online registration form.
